Thank you For Visiting My Site
Fonda Speedway 8-13-2011
This was my first assignment at a dirt track, little did I know how difficult it was going to be, I went there thinking I would be able to get the shots I needed and leave, NOOOOOO, not so easy, by the time I got to the infield where I needed to be, I already had a fine coat of dirt on me ( more than normal ) and my cameras, I was then introduced to the track photographer who was very professional and told me how to stay safe, where to stand and where NOT to go!!!
I found a place to stand to get some images away from the other infield photographers (maybe 8-10), then I started to TRY to take photos of the cars going what I was told about 100 mph plus, on a track with not the best light to take pictures, about 30 minutes later, about 1 out of every 10 photos I took would come out ok, I tried many different settings before I came close to any acceptable images.
Then came winners circle, a few test shots there and a whole new learning curve, many reflections, flashes and fast pace of “Getting The Shot” before the next race started, let’s just say good thing I had a few to practice with, the first attempt was a failure.
Thank You to the official track photographer Images by DC for all of your help and the other infield track photographers for the tips!!!
These images are NOT for sale, they are for viewing only, sorry…
