Structure Fire/77 Washington St, Gloversville,6-28-2009
Fire was reported at 7:26 pm on 6-28-2009 on Washington St in Gloversville NY, a passerby called 911 reporting smoke from the structure.
Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke and flames were showing from the downstairs rear of the structure, firefighters didn’t waste any time making a interior attack while the departments ladder truck was raised to the attic checking for extension due to the balloon construction of that style house.
The home has extensive fire damage to the rear half of the first floor with heat, water and smoke damage throughout the rest of the home
Firefighters also had to deal with a broken hydrant.
The American Red Cross of Northeastern NY responded to help the family of eight that live there.
Three firefighters were overcome by heat and treated at the scene.
Fire investigators were at the scene till the next morning, the cause is yet to be determined.
